Stay free while you check the course fit. Try the language, lesson style and study routine before committing to a recurring plan. A paid feature is useful only if you can access it and will use it regularly.

Check your language—not just the plan name

Busuu lists 14 languages, but the course ranges differ. Its published coverage reaches C1 for English, French, German and Spanish; Korean reaches A2, while the other listed languages reach B2. These are course-content levels, not a guarantee that completing a course gives you that proficiency.

Before choosing: confirm the course range and desired feature on the device you will actually study with. If your goal is beyond that course’s coverage, plan for additional practice or instruction.

Five checks before subscribing

  1. Feature fit: identify the one paid feature you need and verify its language, level and device availability.
  2. Total charge: compare the full amount charged for your selected billing period, not only a monthly equivalent. Check currency, offer duration and the renewal price shown at checkout.
  3. Purchase channel: note whether you are buying on the website, through an app store or through another subscription partner. Keep your receipt and use that channel’s cancellation process.
  4. Renewal: Busuu says cancellation stops the next renewal while Premium continues until the current paid period ends. Its refund guidance recommends cancelling at least 24 hours before renewal.
  5. Refund limits: Busuu’s published 14-day guarantee applies to the initial Premium payment, not automatic renewals or later billing cycles. Apple and mobile-operator purchases require refund requests through those providers.
