How We Score Providers

At Online Course Tracker, our mission is to help learners navigate the crowded digital education landscape and make informed decisions. We evaluate course providers using the Online Course Tracker Editorial Framework.

By Online Course Tracker Editorial Team · Last reviewed: 31 August 2026. We use public information from official provider pages, help centers, published pricing, credential or accreditation sources, and refund or cancellation terms. See our publisher identity and editorial standards.

Editorial Scoring Methodology

When a page publishes a numeric score, it uses the six categories and weights below. Where the inputs are not documented strongly enough for a defensible number, we use a non-numeric editorial fit summary instead.

Evaluation Category Weight Audit Dimensions Assessed
Credential Clarity 20% Accreditation status, degree pathways, certificates of completion, and university/industry partner reputations.
Pricing Transparency 20% Clarity of subscription tiers, upfront pricing availability, student fees, and refund policy visibility.
Flexibility 15% Self-paced study vs. scheduled deadlines, lifetime course access, and mobile/app learning compatibility.
Beginner Friendliness 15% Prerequisites required, onboarding tutorials, interface usability, and fundamental skills coverage.
Career Relevance 20% In-demand industry training, portfolio projects, career mentorship programs, and job board integrations.
Support Quality 10% Access to dedicated personal tutors, peer forums, help centers, and responsive technical assistance.
